What decided it

The first-floor extensions do not conform to the adopted SPD guidance requiring side extensions to be subordinate and maintain characteristic gaps between semi-detached pairs, and the bulk and incongruous appearance would be detrimental to the character and appearance of the area and neighbouring amenity.
