What decided it

The proposed rear extension and dormer would appear bulky and unsympathetic to the original design, dominating the rear roofscape and appearing incongruous when viewed from adjacent properties and nearby houses, thereby conflicting with policies requiring development to reflect and complement existing design and respect character and appearance.
