What decided it

The proposal would cause harm to the High Weald National Landscape and conflict with the development plan, and paragraph 11(d)(i) of the Framework provides a clear reason for refusing development that would harm areas of particular importance including nationally designated landscapes.

The modest benefits of housing delivery and economic support for the rural economy were outweighed by the harm to the High Weald National Landscape and the unsuitability of the location, with no material considerations indicating the appeal should be determined other than in accordance with the development plan.
