Main issues, as the Inspector framed them

  • The effect on the character and appearance of the locality and the streetscene

What decided it

The unduly prominent and visually intrusive character of the two storey extensions, which would be out of keeping with the spacious pattern of development and would substantially outweigh the modest benefits of the scheme under Policy S4.

The modest benefits of additional accommodation and more efficient use of the plot would be substantially outweighed by the adverse effects on the character and appearance of the locality and the quality of the built environment.
