What decided it

The replacement uPVC windows are of sympathetic design and high quality, and their appearance is no more harmful to the Conservation Area than the deteriorated timber windows they replaced.

The material change from timber to uPVC was outweighed by the sympathetic design quality of the replacements and the poor condition of the windows they replaced, resulting in preservation of the Conservation Area's character and appearance.
