What decided it
Appeal A's proposed detached form would break the flowing row of properties and create a disjointed streetscene inconsistent with the predominant pattern of development, whereas Appeal B's attached form would maintain the rhythm and replicate existing architectural characteristics.
For Appeal A, the small-scale housing benefits and economic and social benefits were outweighed by the unacceptable harm to the character and appearance of the Area of Special Local Character; for Appeal B, the scheme was acceptable as it would not harm character and appearance and would provide appropriate living conditions.
