What decided it
The front porch, rear extension and canopy would cause unacceptable harm to the character and appearance of the Conservation Area and fail to preserve its heritage significance, whereas the garage conversion would not cause such harm and would accord with policy.
The less-than-substantial harm to the heritage significance of the Conservation Area caused by the porch, extension and canopy was not outweighed by the creation of additional accommodation, as no other public benefits were identified; the garage conversion caused no such harm and was permitted.
