What decided it
The proposed development would not harm the character and appearance of the ASLC because the spaciousness and verdant nature that forms part of its significance would be retained, and the annexe would remain ancillary to the main dwelling through a condition preventing separate occupation.
The loss of the existing Arts and Crafts dwelling and some mature trees was outweighed by the retention of the spaciousness and verdant character of the ASLC through extensive retained tree cover, new planting, and the contextual fit of the modern design within the varied built form already present in the street.
