The proposal exceeds the 30% floorspace increase threshold set by Policy DP36 and conflicts with the policy's aim to prevent harmful incremental extension of dwellings within the National Park.

The benefits of improved living conditions for the appellants were outweighed by the weighty conflict with Policy DP36 and the requirement to give great weight to conserving the landscape and scenic beauty of the National Park.
