The proposed conservatory would retain the symmetry and architectural character of the historic elevation and would not be visually prominent in the conservation area due to screening by boundary features and vegetation.

The benefits of the proposed extension were balanced against the need to preserve the character and appearance of the conservation area and non-designated heritage asset, with the balance tipping in favour of the proposal as no harm would result.
