Main issues, as the Inspector framed them
- The effect of the proposed development on the character and appearance of the host property, local area and the Oxhey Hall Conservation Area
What decided it
The proposed crown roof form would be visually discordant and incongruous within the context of the host dwelling and local street scene, resulting in harm to the character and appearance of the Conservation Area that outweighed the private benefits to the occupiers.
The private benefits of a larger property with improved amenity for occupiers did not outweigh the less than substantial harm to the significance of the Conservation Area and the identified harm to the host dwelling and local area.
