What decided it

The proposed annexe would be capable of functioning independently as a standalone dwelling within the Exclusion Zone, creating a net increase in residential dwellings which the SPD prohibits due to unmitigable recreational pressures on the Dorset Heathlands.

The private benefit to the appellant of additional living space did not outweigh the potential harm to the integrity of the Dorset Heathlands, and no mitigation or overriding public interest was proposed.
