Main issues, as the Inspector framed them
- the effect on the character and appearance of the streetscene and locality
What decided it
The harmful effects on the character and appearance of the streetscene and locality, caused by the unacceptably dominant and visually intrusive two-storey gable feature and the unduly close proximity of rear elevations, outweighed any personal circumstances or housing supply considerations.
The modest benefit of accommodating the appellant's daughter locally was outweighed by the unacceptable harm to character and appearance and the unusual, cramped relationship with adjacent buildings.
