What decided it

The north-east elevation is the principal elevation of the original dwellinghouse, and the proposed extension would extend beyond a wall forming that elevation, making it non-compliant with Class A of the 2015 Order; additionally, both extensions would use materials of dissimilar appearance contrary to condition A.3(a).
