What decided it

The replacement garage with a pitched roof would be a visual improvement over the existing utilitarian flat-roofed garages and would preserve or enhance the setting of the adjacent listed building, thereby satisfying the requirements of section 66 of the Listed Buildings Act and the NPPF.
