Static Caravan adjacent to Jo's Cafe - , Philippine Village Craft Centre, Beckett Road , Brookland , Romney Marsh , Kent , TN29 9TF
‘the owners of Jo's cafe have sought permission by the landowner to site a static caravan adjacent to the cafe. The Caravan is already sited so this application is retrospective. The Static is to be used occasionally by the owners to stay in to help the running of the cafe and improve security’

Main issues, as the Inspector framed them
- whether the site would be a suitable location for the proposed development, with regard to development plan policy
- the effect of the proposed development on the character and appearance of the area
What decided it
The appellant did not demonstrate that the caravan is essential for the cafe's operation or security, and the site is located in the countryside outside sustainable settlements contrary to development plan policy.
