Main issues, as the Inspector framed them
- The effect of the proposed development on the street scene in Station Road
What decided it
The Council's inability to demonstrate a five-year housing land supply engaged the presumption in favour of sustainable development, and the benefits of housing delivery on previously developed land adjacent to the railway station significantly and demonstrably outweighed the modest harm to the street scene.
The modest adverse impacts on the street scene were significantly and demonstrably outweighed by the benefits of making effective use of land to boost housing supply on previously developed land in a location with good access to services and facilities adjacent to the railway station, with the presumption in favour of sustainable development applied.
