Main issues, as the Inspector framed them
- Whether retention of condition 5 is necessary having regard to the effect of the proposal on the character and appearance of the area
What decided it
The existing context of the residential area, where first-floor extensions are a common feature and neighbouring properties have similar two-storey extensions, meant that the proposed one-metre increase in depth would not harm character and appearance and therefore condition 5 was not necessary.
