The existing asymmetry and variety in the roofscape and street scene of the area, combined with adequate spacing and the already asymmetric nature of the host semi-detached pair, meant that the proposed development would not appear discordant or cause unacceptable harm to character and appearance despite departing from Design Code guidance.
