Planning appeal decision
74A Pimlico Road, Flat 1, London, SW1W 8LS
Upgrading current windows in flat (many of which are broken and all are only single glazed), to new double or triple glazed. The same style and look of the current windows will be maintained. Ideally would like to switch to aluminium for improved security and longevity as it is ground floor flat. Front door also to be replaced (ground floor flat) to provide better security and insulation. The current door has been painted white, but we would like to be able to have flexibility on door colour (either black, cream, or a shade of blue)

Main issues, as the Inspector framed them
- the effect of the proposed development on the character and appearance of the appeal property and the area
- the significance of the nearby Belgravia Conservation Area, a designated heritage asset, through development within its setting
What decided it
The absence of sufficient and detailed information to clearly demonstrate the appearance and form of the previous windows and what is proposed meant it was not possible to conclude that the development would be sympathetic to and appropriate for the appeal property and the character and appearance of the area.
