What decided it
The material increase in traffic generated by the appeal proposal would result in additional movements at a severely substandard junction with the A149, with realistic potential to significantly compromise road user safety, contrary to NPPF paragraphs 110(b) and 111 and Policy CT5.
The significant economic benefits to the rural economy, moderate social benefit in providing accessible holiday accommodation, and absence of significant landscape harm were outweighed by the unacceptable impact on highway safety at a particularly deficient junction and the unsafe conditions created for pedestrians and wheelchair users.
