What decided it

The approval of residential development on the adjacent site, given significant weight, demonstrated that the proposed single dwelling would relate well locationally to the existing settlement and would not undermine the Council's settlement strategy despite conflicting with development plan policies.

The conflict with development plan policies was outweighed by the spatial relationship of the proposal to the existing village, the precedent of the adjacent residential approval, and the absence of harm to the Conservation Area.
