What decided it
The absence of a planning obligation to secure mitigation for adverse effects on the integrity of Stodmarsh and the TSSPA, combined with the unsustainable location of the development in relation to services and facilities, meant the appeal could not succeed.
The limited benefits of the development (small economic benefit during construction and modest sustained benefit to the local economy) were significantly and demonstrably outweighed by the significant harm to the integrity of Stodmarsh and the TSSPA and the conflict with policies for the location of new housing and access to services and facilities.
