What decided it

The proposed access would give rise to a very real potential for conflict with other road users and interfere with the free flow of traffic due to the busy nature of Southway Drive, multiple distractions, and the street tree impeding visibility.

The benefits of providing a parking space and reducing parking pressure in nearby streets, together with the provision of an electric charging point and use of porous materials, do not overcome the harm to highway safety.
