Main issues, as the Inspector framed them
- Whether the single storey extension would preserve or enhance the character or appearance of the Burton Conservation Area including the setting of the Grade II Listed Building at The Granary
What decided it
The contemporary black zinc profiled roof sheeting would create an incongruous and discordant visual element within the conservation area and the setting of the listed building, and the private benefits of the extension were insufficient to outweigh the less than substantial harm to the heritage assets.
