What decided it

The change to the host dwelling's roof from thatch to tiles meant that a thatched roof on the extension would appear incongruous and provide no meaningful contribution to demonstrating the cultural heritage of the Broads, whereas a tiled roof would maintain coherence with the existing dwelling.
