What decided it

For Appeal A, the reduced height and recessive materials of the proposed pool building would make it largely indiscernible in key views and would not result in loss of open space important to the listed building's significance. For Appeal B, the extensive car parking area would intrude into key views of the listed building, and the economic benefits would not outweigh the harm to its setting, particularly as the proposal included more spaces than necessary.
