What decided it
The proposal would cause significant harm to the character and appearance of the local area by introducing tandem backland development that is manifestly out of keeping with the established linear residential pattern and spacious rear gardens of the locality, and this harm substantially outweighs the modest housing and economic benefits even under the tilted balance.
The modest social and economic benefits of housing delivery, employment during construction, and services sustainability were substantially outweighed by the unacceptable permanent harm to character and appearance of the local area, which undermines development plan objectives and Framework aims for well-designed places sympathetic to local character.
