What decided it

The proposed extension would substantially erode visual separation between the semi-detached dwellings and, combined with the host property's previous hip-to-gable conversion and multiple extensions, would create an appearance of overdevelopment contrary to Policy DMHD1 which does not support two-storey side extensions where hip-to-gable extensions exist.
