What decided it
The detrimentally harmful effects on the character and appearance of the area and the living conditions of future occupiers, combined with the Council's ability to demonstrate a five-year housing land supply, meant the limited benefits of an additional dwelling could not outweigh the identified harms.
The benefits of a new dwelling and associated social and economic benefits were outweighed by the adverse effects of harm to character and appearance and future occupiers' living conditions, particularly given the Council's demonstrated five-year housing land supply.
